(**=freeware)

Name: Open2Dprot
NIH Availability: Under Development
Author: Peter Lemkin
NIH Contact Person: Peter Lemkin
Supported Platforms: Java and R based
Brief Description: The Open2Dprot project is a community effort to create an open source 2D protein expression data analysis system that is Java- and R-based using XML and RDBMS technology. It will be downloadable and could be used for data mining protein expression across sets of 2D protein data from research experiments. Initially, modules will be created for 2D-PAGE (2-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis), data and later expanded to handle data from other 2D protein separation methods such as LC-MS, etc.

Supported Platforms: Java Based
Brief Description: Flicker is an open-source stand-alone Java computer program for visually comparinpublished Internet gels have a subset of spots identified which may make them useful to compare with your gels. You may be able to draw putative conclusions as to the identification of some spots in your gels that are visually appear to be the same spot. It is one of the contributed programs for Open2Dprot.
